RESUMEE
My name is Andrés Arístides Fulcar Castillo. My birth date is October 17, 1961. I met Christ as my personal Savior in a Christian camp for children, one day of August 1973, and then was baptized the following year when I was 12 years old.
From the days of my adolescence the Lord motivated me to begin serving him in a Christian church that has already disappeared. There I began to serve the Lord at the age of 16, in the Youth Society, and later became a Sunday School teacher, singing director, youth leader, among other responsibilities. Then, in my youth, I entered the ministries of preaching, evangelism, discipleship, etc., becoming part of the leadership of that church.
Upon completing high school, the Lord led me to study Civil Engineering as a secular profession, graduating in 1983 from the Tecnological Institute of Santo Domingo (INTEC). At the same institution, I did a postgraduate degree in Construction Management (1986), and then a Master's Degree in Structural Engineering (2003). I have worked for more than 30 years in various engineering and construction companies, first as a construction engineer, and then as a structural designer.
In my former church, I attended for almost twenty years. There, the Lord guided me to meet and marry my dear wife Hulda. Being members of that church, the Lord gave us two beautiful sons, Andres and Adrian. In 1995, due to a series of sad episodes, and after much prayer, we decided to give up membership. Then, in 1996, the Lord brought us to the heart of the Christian Baptist Church (Iglesia Bautista Cristiana, I.B.C.), where we participated in various ministries, such as the ministry of visitation, assistant professor and then Sunday School teacher, singing director, and as a regular preacher, both in the church and sent to other sister churches in the interior of the republic. From 1999 to 2012, I served as a member of the deacon’s body and leadership. Attending this congregation, the Lord gave us a daughter, Ariana.
In 2002, I entered as an active student in the Baptist University Seminary (Seminario Universitario Bautista, S.U.B.), with the purpose of preparing myself better in the knowledge and understanding of the Scriptures to better serve the Lord in teaching and preaching. In 2007, I completed all the subjects and received a degree as Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Studies from the Northland Baptist Bible College (N.B.B.C.), an entity that endorsed and supported the study programs of the University.
And I have been enrolled since 2015 in the program of Master and Doctorate in Theology, from the Southern Baptist School for Biblical Studies (SBS), in its overseas extension in the city of Santo Domingo. In December 2019, I received a degree as Master in Theology from SBS; actually, I am working in the thesis for the Doctorate degree.
Actually, I’m serving as professor in the International Baptist Seminary (Seminario Bautita Internacional) and the Southern Baptist School, preacher of the Word, regularly in sister churches and occasional in Christian Baptist Church, where I am member.
In the professional field, I have been working in the private practice of structural designs and was teaching undergraduate classes in two private universities. Currently, I am part of the staff of technical support for USA based Computers and Structures Inc. (CSi), worldwide leaders in structural analysis and design softwares.
